Job Description

Position Objective

• To ensure that Ansan plant and facilities are safe and compliant with all applicable country, regional and local regulations.
• To implement, monitor and review ECOLAB global and regional initiatives 
• To establish, maintain and continually improve the local management systems and performance of the plant in the areas of safety, health, and environment. This involves active leadership, coordination and participation in all relevant aspects of the site.
• To be a leadership role model and leader in all of these areas and to display a natural diligence and enthusiasm that will become the standard for all site employees and contractors to emulate and follow.

Main Responsibilities:

• Achieve key performance indicators (KPI) as defined for Safety
• Participate in monthly, weekly or daily manufacturing meetings to raise and review Safety issues with the site management and supervisors.
• Ensure safety documents and procedures are controlled, updated and publicized in a timely manner.
• Prepare and conduct local site management reviews of the Safety systems.
• Attend and participate in Local/Regional SHE meetings
• Conduct and organize central safety and environment committee meetings and employee consultation committees.

Safety Responsibilities

• Monitor and review relevant country, regional and local safety and health regulations for their impact upon the plant, its personnel and its operations.
• Conduct inspections with managers, line managers, supervisors to ensure health and safety standards are observed and rectify unsafe or unsatisfactory conditions and practices before incidents can occur.
• Establish, review and implement safe work instructions, procedures and safety and health equipment, apparatus maintenance programs for relevant equipment and processes.  
• Ensure that local site safety and health inductions are performed for new employees, contractors and visitors
• Monitor the performance of contractors on site through line management to ensure that they meet all of the ECOLAB site requirements.
• Provide and act as a resource for line management in safety management and decision making. Conduct &/or assist monthly training programs in health and safety issues.
• Collate local safety and health statistics based on ECOLAB operational guidelines. Complete International Injury Reporting reports for ECOLAB Global Operations EHS management    
• Publicize safety and health statistics on a monthly basis and keep records
• Conduct and monitor behavioral audit and hazard inspection results to drive behavioral performance improvements and change through training and extended counseling of employees.    
• Ensure corrective actions from the audits and incident investigations are implemented on a scheduled basis and that the action is post audited for effectiveness.
• Support the establish, implementation and monitoring “5S” “TPM” program on site   
• Conduct safety and health incident investigations and root cause analysis including near miss situations.
• Ensure LCP compliance across site and MOC policy is in place and followed.Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs such as TPM as required.  To be lead the safety Pillar.

Environment and Sustainability

• Review relevant country, regional and local environmental regulations for impact upon the plant, its personnel and its operations. 
• Ensure that change is implemented with and though line management to achieve necessary outcomes for compliance.   
• Establish, conduct and review environmental risk assessments involving local plant and corporate personnel as necessary.
• Conduct site monitoring and inspections to detect and review all critical and significant environmental plant aspects that affect the environment

• Ensure environmental control plant and equipment is in operation and performing to required levels to meet or surpass legal and statutory requirements.
• Perform all mandatory and statutory licensing activities and reporting requirements to regulatory authorities. This includes renewals and reporting.
• Monitor, control, record and report site environmental (including but not limited to hazardous and non-hazardous wastes) and sustainability indicators for regulatory purposes and ECOLAB Global EHS Operations sustainability reports
• Ensure that local site environmental inductions are performed for new employees, contractors and visitors
• Establish environmental compliance and environmental system audit schedules to monitor the management systems and evaluate performance.
• Ensure corrective actions from the audits are implemented on a scheduled basis and that the action is post audited for effectiveness.
• Provide and act as a resource for line management in environmental management and decision making
• Conduct environmental incident investigations including near miss situations.
• Ensure that corrective actions from environmental incident investigations are followed through. 

Quality

• Review work procedures at a local level and control any necessary changes through modifying documented procedures and appropriate training.  
• Conduct ISO system audits and report the findings to plant and Regional Supply Chain.
• Ensure corrective actions from the audits are implemented on a scheduled basis and that the action is post audited for effectiveness.

General

• Ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate standards.

• Manage the company’s cash and assets in an efficient, economical manner preventing waste or misuse.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs.
• Maintain strict adherence to the Code of Conduct policy.
• Maintain the principles and programs as outlined in the Quality Policy, and follow quality procedures related to the work area and the position.
• Assist plant management work as like month closing work for manufacturing & purchase

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:

• Minimum of three years at a manufacturing facility with EHS, or engineering, or supervisory responsibilities.
• Good working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
• Experience with Quality System Management ISO-9000
• Experience with Environmental System Management
• Excellent collaboration, verbal, and written skills
• English skill to communicate
