We are working with the largest global sports technology company to stream live sprots data from Korea, and now preparing to expand our coverage to Japan. We are looking for a country manager in Japan to oversight and manage operations in the region.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to setup business in Japan and manage day to day operations
• Hire local scouts and manage to successfully onboard to data journalist platform
• Shortlist and interview every applicant to finalize qualified scout candidates
• Monitor and follow-up daily sports events and scout schedules
• Communicate in between KR headquarter and local scouts to successfully cover all sports matches
• Distribute and appoint event coverage for each scout based on variables, such as distance, tickets cost, performances, etc.
• Handle relevant local operational tasks required for labor, tax, and all government-related jobs

Job Requirements

• Native level Japanese
• Business fluency in English and/or in Korean
• Excellent knowledge in Japanese community, such as city locations, transportations, distances, etc.
• Strong knowledge in sports leagues in Japan (Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball)
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit with proven records of hands-on experiences
• Strong communications and multi-tasking skills to manage tens of scouts simultaneously
• Full working rights and residency in Japan

Desirable Qualifications

• Strong managerial skills with an analytical mindset and systematic problem-solving approach
• Work or internship experience in finance, consulting or any professional services is a plus
• Independent worker who can manage various tasks without full instructions
• Experience in hiring or team setup with series of interviews
• Experience working with remote teams
• Interest in sports industry and sports data business
• Knowledge in local job markets and regulations, tax, reporting etc.
• Strong knowledge in using business tools, such as Slack, MS Office, coworking SAAS, etc.
• Any experience or knowledge in data integration or basic programming skills is a plus
