GM Korea Company(GMK) is seeking to add an exceptional lawyer (put in Korean “lawyer”) to a join the legal team in Bupyeong as Counsel – Manager / 차장 with an experience in labor law. The position will report to the Director of HR/LR Legal and will be located at GMK’s offices in Bupyeong, Korea.

What You’ll Do :

• With passion to learn and practice law in grand dynamics of GM operations in Korea, collaborating with other legal counsels at GMK, GM HQ, and elsewhere to proactively and strategically advise on a broad range of various labor and employment matters such as collective bargaining agreements, litigation management, labor and employment regulations and disciplinary matters;
• collaborating with other legal counsels at GMK, GM HQ, and elsewhere to provide advise on other corporate legal matters including transactions, regulatory and compliance issues;
• contributing to success of GM operations in Korea by combining both legal and strategic business acumen with a strong understanding of the company’s goals and operation as a key business partner; and
• communicating and managing effectively across internal and external functions and businesses, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :
• law degree & bar admission (Korean Bar/Labor Attorney Bar);
• minimum of 3 years of private legal practice and/or in-house experience with an experience gained in the labor sector;
• business-minded, solution-oriented lawyer who can provide a top-down perspective while maintaining a sleeves-rolled-up willingness to take on a significant working role in the company;
• superior personal and professional integrity, excellent communication skills, strategic management team experience, humility and self-awareness;
• ability to take ownership and manage multiple large-scale projects to deliver results and past success forging collaborative relationships with business units in a fast-paced environment; and
• Korean and English language fluency (not mandatory but preferred)
