The opportunity
The GMCL is a medical, global field-based role working across countries and affiliates to accelerate the development and delivery of medicines to patients through effective medical customer engagement across the lifecycle of a molecule/Disease Area (DA).
There are 5 major responsibilities in this role:
1 Develops and facilitates relationships and collaborative networks with external stakeholders ensuring Roche is the preferred partner and championing a ONE Roche approach
Drives scientific knowledge exchange with global experts and across scientific networks at global and affiliate level
Establishes and maintains scientific collaborations with key external stakeholders (including patient organisations, scientific societies, academia, policy and access stakeholders)
Identifies and progresses key opportunities for increased collaboration and cooperation and overcomes barriers to facilitate collaborations between customers and the organisation
2 Engages and educates Investigators and site staff to enable and expedite successful delivery of clinical development programs
Drives scientific engagement with clinical trial sites to support patient recruitment and retention by ensuring confidence and motivation of site staff across the development program
Gathers investigator feedback and insights to optimise clinical development performance and customer experience
Discusses and supports IIS, compassionate use programmes and data strategies that support access activities (until release of pivotal data)
3 Provides real-time insights and ground level understanding of the disease area landscape across countries to better inform cross-functional strategies
Builds a comprehensive understanding of the local environment
Executes insights gathering activities to address knowledge gaps (including advisory boards, steering committees, etc)
Ensures the customer perspective is incorporated in strategic and tactical decisions
4 Partners with global cross-functional colleagues and affiliates to enhance launch readiness in assigned countries
Accelerates affiliate(s) understanding of the disease area ecosystem and supports understanding and alignment with the global strategy to drive effective affiliate planning and decision making
Acts as disease area champion and advocate in the assigned affiliates
Supports the local implementation of field-based activities of the global medical plan in compliance with all local requirements
5 - Contributes to the high performance and innovation of the Global Medical Collaboration tea to optimise customer experience and to evolve to meet the needs of the organisation
Who you are:
Desirable: Master Degree in science or related field
Highly desirable: Postgraduate Degree (PhD, PharmD, MSc, MD, MBA)
At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry at global/affiliate level
At least 2 years of experience in a global or local medical/scientific field customer facing role
Deep scientific knowledge of the IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease)is preferred.
Experience in Medical Affairs, Product Development or Early Development is essential, including understanding and experience of processes and procedures for clinical trial engagement for corporate sponsored and independent supported studies
Fluency in Written and Spoken English is mandatory
Fluency in Written and Spoken language of the host country is mandatory

Strategic skills and system awareness are critical for this role, liaising with teams within PDMA, PD, pRED/gRED, commercial, Pharma International and affiliates
Flexibility and scientific agility to change between Disease Area, functional, and/or specialist topics according to business needs.
