Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing regional appropriacy of the product portfolio across learning & assessment for Asia markets by providing market insight to Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams. •
Responsible for gathering and analysing market and competitor intelligence, representing the voice of the customer, identifying regional market trends and opportunities, and informing product development and the lifecycle of the portfolio for Asia markets (front list, backlist & OP).
Responsible for analysis of viability, feasibility and desirability of regional-specific product propositions from idea to go-to-market roll-out.
Job Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the Heads of Sector, and Sales and Marketing colleagues to input into the product plan with an immediate strategic focus on Primary and Pre-Primary.
Comment on products in conceptualization and development, analysing material to ensure suitability for the target customer segments and representing the voice of the customer.
Input into all research planning (short, medium and long-term) to ensure regional requirements, trends and developments are identified and evaluated.
Interpret research reports and collaborate with Product Management colleagues to ensure regional needs are addressed through future product and service offers.
Support product teams to ensure intelligence and up-to-date information on educational systems across the region are integrated into the product offer.
Create and provide analyses of competitor (traditional & non-traditional) product and activities to Sales and Product Management teams.
Regularly visit markets and customers across the region (kindergartens, schools, universities, events etc.) to gather insight to inform product development. Identify trends and report back findings and insight to key stakeholders.
Identify and develop relationships with key institutions, content suppliers, potential partners, and third parties in order to build a network of advisors, reviewers, authors and content creators to inform regional product proposition development and delivery.
Support, in collaboration with regional and central teams, hands-on content & proposition development as local opportunities arise to ensure product-market fit of new regional-specific solutions.
Support in feeding into budget analysis and tracking for new product propositions.
Job Requirements:
Recognized ELT qualification or equivalent
Minimum three years’ experience in a similar or related post
Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical & data skills
Knowledge and experience of product development process, ideally within an educational publishing context
Understanding of regional educational systems for pre-Primary to Adult English language learners
Strong commercial acumen. Understanding of P&L.
Knowledge of English language teaching
Sales or editorial experience is desirable.
Familiarity with one other Asian Languages, particular Japanese, Korean or Chinese is advantageous.
