PDF is currently seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to join our South Korea R&D team. This individual will be responsible for providing client support for PDF’s advanced toolset. The ideal candidate will be an organized and highly motivated team player, demonstrating strong initiative and exceptional communication skills. They must possess the drive to deliver high-quality results and superior customer service in a timely manner, while thriving in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and highly productive small team environment.
This position is based in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, Korea.

Responsibilities:
• Achieve Proficiency with Equipment:
o Quickly develop expertise in utilizing the semiconductor equipment.
• Startup and Maintenance:
o Conduct initial setup activities with minimal support from the headquarters.
o Perform preventative maintenance and effectively address equipment issues through high-quality repairs.
• Ordering and Replacing Parts:
o Order and replace defective units, components, or parts as necessary.
o Actively communicate with headquarters engineers to resolve tool issues and participate in escalation conference calls.
o Verify the operational quality of the tool after completing repairs or maintenance.
• Installation and Relocation:
o Install and/or relocate equipment and manage the associated startup of newly installed systems.
• Troubleshooting:
o Diagnose and resolve equipment problems to minimize downtime or interruptions.
o Maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, and other management reports.
• Problem Resolution:
o Identify corrective actions and escalate issues for prompt resolution.
• Emergency Response:
o Respond to emergency calls as required in the fabrication facility.
• Customer Satisfaction:
o Ensure full customer satisfaction and maintain excellent relations within the assigned tool area.
o Demonstrate a strong interest in and knowledge of the customer’s business and processes.
o Build and maintain customer satisfaction through clear, consistent communication and the sharing of collective knowledge.
• High-Pressure Situations:
o Operate effectively in high-pressure fabrication situations.
o Politely request customer feedback and take appropriate actions.
o Be aware of potential dissatisfaction and escalate it quickly.
o Develop and execute corrective action plans.
• Compliance:
o Adhere to all intellectual property guidelines and safety procedures.
• Preferred Experience:
o Experience with fabrication, eBeam tools, vacuum systems, and high voltage systems is advantageous.

Required Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field; a Master's degree is preferred.
o Degree specialization in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
• Skills and Experience:
o Strong analytical and engineering skills.
o Preferred experience or knowledge in eBeam technology; experience with other semiconductor equipment is advantageous.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
o It is not a must, but proficiency in English in both verbal and written forms is preferred
o Experience in a fabrication (Fab) environment is highly desirable.
