This position is for a new manufacturing site under refurbishment in Songdo, Incheon, Korea. The EHS Leader is an individual contributor and subject matter expert, with overall responsibility for environmental, health & safety and sustainability programs at the site. In the first year in the role, the EHS leader will be a member of the project team setting up the site. The role will then transition to setting up and eventually running the EHS and sustainability programs in an operational manufacturing site. The position reports to the manufacturing site leader.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Member of the project team managing the site refurbishment and rebranding. The project team consist of Korea manufacturing site operational leaders, global manufacturing operational teams and global EHS teams.
• Assess the EHS regulatory requirements for the setup and operations of the site; lead the application and obtaining of EHS licenses and regulatory approvals.
• Advice on the design and action during the refurbishment of the site to meet regulatory requirements, Cytiva’s EHS requirement and good EHS practices.
• Lead the EHS pre-startup reviews and assessments during site commissioning.
• Lead the contractor safety program during the refurbishment and commissioning of the site.
• Setup and implement the EHS Policy and Cytiva EHS and sustainability programs.
• Manage the EHS regulatory compliance programs and activities.
• Member of site leadership team advising and actioning on EHS issues.
• Drive continuous improvement around EHS & sustainability.
• Evaluate EHS conditions, assess risks and develop  action plans and budgets to address deficiencies.
• Lead by example; observe through daily Gemba walks; drive leadership and associate participation to assess deficiencies, identify solutions and close the deficiencies; and provide EHS guidance.

1. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
   

   • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical degree, EHS specialization is preferred.
   • Strong project leadership experience in EHS.
   • Experience with Korea EHS regulation in the industry.
   • Problem solving mindset and ability to juggle multiple deadlines & projects.
   • Hands-on and pragmatic, with strong verbal and written communication skills and facilitation experience
   • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
   • Fluent in Korea & English
   • Experience in Biomedical/Life Science industry is preferred.
