Business Development Manager (BDM) |
Job Summary |
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Colorcon is responsible for developing
and
managing customer partnerships and opportunities with the purpose of promotion and
selling Colorcon products and services to Pharmaceutical and related industries.
BDM will increase the sales income and profit of the company in accordance with
Colorcon
Policy and Vision. |
Responsibilities
& Duties |
ㆍResponsible for achieving sales objectives for the territory (strategic leader of the
territory); completes LE/ budget process, forecasts all customer needs, works with
supply chain on any unique/ special raw materials.
ㆍResponsible for developing contacts with established and prospective customers within
assigned territory for purposes of promoting and selling the value of the products,
services, and capabilities of Colorcon.
ㆍManage and grow sales territory, which includes identifying prospective customers,
communicating, and coordinating customer visits and creating/ progressing/ closing
projects with customers.
ㆍUtilize/ involve different resources in customer visits (FTM / FCM / MDM / RSM / GM)
for Colorcon team selling to strengthen the customer relationship and bring additional
value to customers.
ㆍAct as a liaison between the various Colorcon departments and the customer.
Includes communicating customer needs and ensuring proper transfer of information
between departments (QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, etc) and the customer.
ㆍMaintain detailed knowledge of each customer within territory, which includes but may
not be limited to their products, competing products, company information, market
information, organizational structure, and key personnel.
ㆍUnderstand customers’ decision-making processes and identify who are the decision
makers, key influencers, end-users, and guiders, as well as their individual style and
relationship, within customers’ organization. Monthly and/or quarterly updates on
the information to internal teams.
ㆍDevelop a win/win sales strategy based on customers’ needs, competitors’ weaknesses
and Colorcon strengths to support long term, sustainable growth.
ㆍSet decision making criteria to include the features of Colorcon unique and distinctive
selling points in order to get the prospect to rule out the competition.
ㆍOrganize and conduct Colorcon branded seminars (Coating School, etc.) at Colorcon
and customer sites.
ㆍEvaluate system suggested pricing by analysing Pricing Central portlet. In the event the
customer needs a different price from system price, discuss with RSM / MDM and quote
accordingly with CS help.
ㆍConduct annual business reviews with key accounts in territory.
ㆍNegotiate sales contracts and volume pricing agreements.
ㆍPrepare for and attend sales meetings and industry meetings.
ㆍForecast territory sales figures and budgeting for upcoming year.
ㆍGoing beyond a territory focus and encouraging the organization to generate new ideas
that align with company and department goals.
ㆍRevises or develops procedures and policy to be more effective and contributes to their
successful implementation; Challenges existing ideas and methodology constructively;
Proactively requests coaching from manager or peers. |
Key
Requirements |
ㆍIntegrity.
ㆍBachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutics, Nutraceutical or related scientific discipline
required.
ㆍMinimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or relevant industry
ㆍAn understanding of the pharmaceutical market, development, and registration process
ㆍExcellent project management and communication skills in order to effectively manage
customer and internal company activities required.
ㆍExcellent reading and writing in English are required, fluent oral English preferred.
ㆍStrong goal-setting, time management and organization skills required.
ㆍExtensive travel required (up to 50%), inherent to customer project support.
ㆍGood track record. |
